For all pet applications in New South Wales, tenants must complete the NSW Fair Trading “Apply to Keep a Pet in a Rental Property” application. The workflow below allows you to complete the application digitally. At the final step, you will receive the formal NSW Pet Application form as a PDF ready to sign and submit.
Important Notes for Tenants
- This form can be given to the landlord/agent at any point during a tenancy.
- It must be submitted before the pet is kept on the property.
Tenant Responsibilities

- Ensure all tenants listed on the tenancy agreement sign the form.
- Provide the signed form to the landlord or their agent.
